paola Montes-Roldan

Paola has been a believer all her life and came to know Christ as Savior as a teenager. During college, she discovered a passion for vocational ministry and felt called to seminary. She started serving in the church at 15 years old and has continued throughout her life. It was while serving as associate pastor overseeing discipleship in the local church that she became aware of the intrinsic nature and the need for intergenerationality. This led to pursuing doctoral studies in intergenenerational matters. Paola is a mother and wife residing in the Greater Chicago Area. Her ministry passion is to help people mature in their faith as they grow into Christlikeness by engaging with Scripture, community and a devotional life.

My favorite intergenerational experience/memory: My favorite intergenerational experience has been to home educate my children. It has stretched me and challenged me in so many ways. A few years ago, we were studying what eclipses were, since we were going to see one. My daughter wrote about her experience watching the eclipse and how one day we will not need the sun because Jesus will be our light forever. Many other times, my son has mentioned God's qualities and how he knows everything and can do anything. Their faith makes my faith stronger and motivates me to follow Jesus even closer!

Why I believe intergenerational ministry is vital to the life of the church: I believe intergenerational is God's design for his people and for humanity. It is how we become who God calls us to be individually and as the body of Christ, as we listen to and serve each other, pray for one another and worship together.
